South Half of DL 8986

South Half of DL 8986

This is the home place with all the buildings, power, wells, handlings facilities, training pens and existing road access.

The comfortable 1864 sqft ranch house with 3 bedrooms, 2 bath rooms and an open design European bright kitchen  is surrounded by large sun decks, bordering on a 5500 sqft swimming pond with big walking stones. The view to the snow capped Cariboo Mountains is magnificent and you will enjoy sun rise and sun set from the house.

Adjacent to the house is a 3 bay carport with a heated mud room to the south and a 1400sqft wood shed with 2 dog kennels to the north.

South of the carport a 4000sqft deer proof garden -with waist high plant boxes- connects to the cozy green house. This is the original first building on the property from the ‘50s, converted into a green house with all the old windows from the complete renovation of the house in 1995.

A few steps up the hill is a cozy 256 sqft guest cabin on top of the spacious root cellar with natural rock walls. From its deck you can enjoy the view of the whole valley.

All the agricultural machinery is shedded in the 30’ x 120’ metal shop with a concrete floor, 220 Volt wiring, oil furnace and lots of storage space around.

A timber framed 1350sqft barn with a hip roof  houses the heated veterinarian room with the water supply for the house and 2.3km of a cattle water system and a well insulated cool room for dry aging beef. There are several box stalls for farrowing, rearing chickens or for your own milk cow. Out the back is a heated waterer with pens and a large round pen for training horses.

A second large timber framed barn (2380sqft) with a massive hay loft is part of the bison proof handling facilities (designed after Temple Grandin and Bud Williams) with sorting and training pens (for electric fence) for up to 800 head of custom cattle arriving every spring to enjoy their summer on the luscious pastures of Big Bear Ranch.
